Quirino 2017: Quirino

This trip was my solo travel and first time to join a group event organized by GALAPH. I was quite nervous yet excited to meet new friends and travel buddies :)

We left Friday night, April 21, 2017 in Quezon City for more or less 8 hours going to Quirino.

Our first stop (Saturday), Siitan Nature Park and Bimmapor Rock Formation in Nagtipunan Quirino :)

We walked towards our designated bangka (small boat) to cruise along the river.

Next stop, Diamond Cave.

I wasn't feeling well when I got off from the cave since I have claustrophobia :( But I survived! The cave was just fine and slippery. We don't have any protective gear. This should be work on by the local government to provide safety gears for the tourist, And promise to myself that I will never explore caves AGAIN!

NEVER AGAIN :D

with local kids

We had our lunch at MJ Snack and Pancit Cabagan Restaurant.

After lunch, we head to Governor Rapids in Maddela, Quirino. We register our names when we arrived and the staff distributed us the life jackets. Our group decided not to pursue to do river tubing, instead we cruise again along the river and caving. I decided to stay with the boatman while my group was exploring the caves in the area, hahaha!

Some of our groups tried to cliff jump.

We went back to registry area and head off of Aglipay, Quirino. We stopped by in a store to buy personal stuff and snacks. We settled in a lodge in Aglipay. We washed up and rest while others had their social nights :D

Next morning (Sunday), I decided to stay in lodge while others went to spelunking in Aglipay cave. Almost half of our group also stayed in lodge. When they've arrived, we took our breakfast together.

After breakfast, we packed our things and went off to Provincial Capitol of Quirino located at Cabarroguis. Did some photo ops inside the capitol.

We also visited the newly built (that time) Quirino Watersports Complex. The management allowed us to tour the vicinity.

with Jayvee, Pia, Alyssa and Romer.

We took our quick lunch and head to Baguio Village in Diffun. After registration, our coordinator divided us into two groups, one group who wants to go to the Ganano falls which will take almost an hour trek and the other one group (which I chose) will trek for 10 - 15 minutes to Sinipit Falls guided by another coordinator. Trekking is not also my favorite thing, hahahaha!

We went back and washed up while waiting for other group who went to Ganano Falls. We departed almost 5PM. We stopped over for dinner and arrived in Manila at 2AM (Monday)

Quirino province is such a very high potential in tourism. The local government should work on training more for tour guides and provide safety gears for the spelunking and caving activities.

I had a great weekend and enjoyed this trip despite of "not so" fan of caving and trekking, hahaha! And I also met new friends! (That's the highlight) :)
