La Union 2015: La Union

La Union is a province located in Region I (Ilocos Region) and known as the Surfing Capital of the North.

Last October 2015, we visited and explored this province. It was also our anniversary trip with my Bosslove :) (Yiheeeeee). We went to Partas Bus Terminal in Pasay and hopped in bus going to Abra. We bought ticket for 12:00 midnight trip. :)

We arrived at San Fernando, La Union at 7:00am :) (it was a loooonnngg trip). We took a quick breakfast and headed to our first destination at Luna :) We rode an ordinary bus going to Vigan from San Fernando. All buses bound to Vigan passes through Balaoan town. When we reached Balaoan, we rented a tricycle going to Luna :)

After 15 to 20 minutes, we arrived in our first stop, the famous Namacpacan Church or also known as Santa Catalina de Alejandria Church :)

Next stop is the pebble beach. It was the first time I went to a pebble beach, well obvously, it compose of colorful pebbles instead of sand. Along the pebble beach, the ruins of watch tower is located. :)

Stone picking is the main livelihood of residents nearby the beach, like these women doing :)

Pebbles overload!

After few minutes of chatting with the locals, we headed to Bahay na Bato :) This newest attraction in La Union is located in Barangay Nalvo Norte, Luna, La Union :)

Pretty obvious that this house was made of stones and pebbles from the pebbles beach of course! This house was a family rest house owned by Dr. Edison and Dra. Purita Noble and turned into a one of tourist destination in Luna!

We paid P20.00 for the entrance fee :)

The house also composed of color painted Korean symbols/words engraved stones, carvings, wood sculptors and art crafts designed and made by Korean artist named Vong Kim :)

The visitors wrote a note in the stone and display in this table. I also seen some of famous personalities wrote a note too!

We just roamed around the house and took pictures :)

We went to 2nd floor of the house and we were amazed with the view and the interior!

We headed back to Balaoan and rode a bus to Urbiztondo :)

The famous landmark of Antonio Luna :)

We checked in at Urbiz Garden Plage. We just put our bags and look for a resto to feed our empty (and angry) stomach. Hahaha!

We rode a jeep and told the driver to drop us off in Urbiztondo Grill House.

We ordered sisig and nilagang baka. The food tasted just fine. Maybe I had high expectation because of high rates in Tripadvisor. Learned a lesson :)

We went back to our hotel and rest. We reserved a room beforehand in Urbiz Garden Plage. The B&B has a good reviews in Tripadvisor with reasonable price! We availed a room cost P3,000.00 (low season rate) with free breakfast! And the place is beach front! I strolled around and was impressed with the place :) I had a chance to chat with Tina Antonio, who manage the place. Her grandparents built the house :) The place is located along the high way, so easy to locate :)

Beautiful house and garden and relaxing :) We wish to stay here longer :)

Here are the photos :)

Spacious and super clean room :)

According to Tina, this place can rent also for wedding venue, reception and Photoshoots :)

We rested and enjoy the view of Urbiz Garden Plage the whole afternoon. We hopped a jeep going to San Fernando and had a dinner in well known resto and best halo halo in town, the Halo halo de Iloko :)

Very artisty interior :)

The food tasted very good!

The famous and yummy halo halo :)
We had a quick stroll around the area and went back to our hotel :)

On next day, we woke up early to prepare our things to check out :( We enjoyed the breakfast served and it was delicious!

We checked out at Urbiz Garden and headed to Macho Temple :)

Bit goodbye to my 36th province! :) Had a great weekend!
