Zambales 2013: Potipot Island

I thought that Puerto Galera was my last getaway for the year 2013. :) But fortunately, no. hahaha! Due to my financial crisis this year (hahaha), some of my bucketlist this year did not push through. Anyhow, it's alright. Bawi na lang next time :)

Approximately 4-5 hours travel time from Manila to Sta. Cruz Zambales where the jump off point to Potipot Island, less crowded, more of nature and relaxing. It was named as "Boracay of Luzon". Well, it's not as  powdered - white sand as Boracay but the unspoiled place of island was worth visited than to a noisy and commercialized place. We left at 12 midnight of December 14, 2013. We rented a van cost P 1,000 each ($22) roundtrip for 12 person. Not bad :)

So here are my few photos from Potipot Island Adventure :)

Diet. hahaha (from friend's cam :) )

At 5:00am, we arrived at my friend's house in Zambales. We rested for 2-3 hours and depart going to Puerto Del Mar Resort :)
Sunrise at Zambales :)

We check in our bags and stuffs in Puerto Del Mar Resort for P 1,800 ($40) per night for 2 kubos (fan rooms). And we rented also 2 bancas which P 400 ($8.90) each (roundtrip) to Potipot Island.

Potipot Island is just 5-10 minutes away from resort. Puerto Del Mar is the easiest and quickest way to go to island. We paid P100 ($2.22) for entrance fee for day tour per person. They allowed to pitch tent in the island and stay for overnight cost P 300 ($6.67) per person.

The island has tree house. Not sure if it's for rent :)

Stunning sunset :)

How to go to Puerto Del Mar by car?
Take the NLEX (Dau, Pampanga Exit) to SCTEX - Subic Bay then follow to (Santa Cruz) Zambales road direction.
Stop at the Puerto Del Mar Beach Resort Sign, before Uacon, Bridge.  From there it is 500 meters from the National Highway before you see the Puerto Del Mar Beach Resort Sign.  Follow the Barangay road, Uacon River Scenery until you see the entrance sign.

How to go to Potipot Island by bus?
Take Sta. Cruz Bus from Victory Liner Pasay/Cubao Terminal. Tell the conductor to drop you by Dawal in Uacon in Candelaria. Also ask the conductor to know the last trip going to Manila. You may just wait for the bus on the highway going to Manila when you go home.

Travel Date: December 14-15 2013
