*Bicolandia Getaway 2013: Calaguas*
Albay is my father's home town (specifically, he's from Manito, Albay, approximately 45 minutes jeepney ride from Legaspi City) and I've been there countless times. But surprisingly, even we visited in Manito, I've never been in Cagsawa Ruins, one of the most visited place in Albay which located only in Daraga, Albay (just an hour drive from Manito).
Couple of days before our Calaguas trip, my friend Gelene told me that her mother wants us to visit their house in Guinobatan after our trip. My initial plan was after Calaguas, we are going to try surfing in Bagasbas Beach which is located in Daet (that I want to try it sooooo badly). But later on, we end up going to Guinobatan. :)
We left Calaguas Island at 11:00am, and arrived in Paracale at 2:00pm because of rough wave of Pacific Ocean,we ended up almost 3 hours boat ride. hehehe.. Took a van going to Daet, an hour drive. Since there's no direct route from Daet to Legaspi, we need to passed by in Naga (yey! Naga!), and travel more or less 2 hours! yay! We arrived at 4:30pm in Naga and went to Bus terminal located beside SM Naga. And travel another 2 hours before we reach Guinobatan. Yikes! hahahaha! And finally, we arrived at Gelene's house at 7:00pm. I will let you compute how many hours we travel from Calaguas (Camarines Norte) to Guinobatan (Albay). hahaha!
Oh yessss!!! |
On our way to Cagsawa :) |
Here we go!
Camera trick trial..hahaha |
Oh yeah, we did a lot of attempt to have a perfect jump shot with my sister. hahaha
Since Mr. Sun gave us a hot climate and did sun bathing (literally) taking photos of Mayon Volcano, we decided to order halo-halo stall nearby and this time, it has a twist. The locals called it Halo-halo flavored chili! And it cost P45 per cup. And it's good!! :)
The blue cup has chili flavored halo halo :) |
bye bye Cagsawa! :) |
We went back to Gelene's house to fix and packed up our things.
Gelene's aunt invited us to go to their house before we head back to Manila.
We had a short stay and had little snacks at Gelene's aunt house and head to Legaspi to take bus going back to Manila. When we were in Grand Bus Terminal, all bus lines are fully booked that day (even deluxe and first class bus)! Yay! Hassle!!!! We went also to other bus terminal and there's a lot of trans-passenger waiting and hoping for the next bus arrives :( To make story short, we were STRANDED!!! huhu... We went back to Grand Bus Terminal and took a reservation (for non aircon bus) for next day :( Super hassle that day! It's getting dark and we need to go back to Gelene's house and stay there for another night. Well, the good thing, even we were stranded, we had a house to stay for free :). Many thanks to Gelene's family :) and we have a chance to stroll around the plaza!!!
Municipal Hall of Guinobatan :) |
On next day, we were surprised when someone gave us raw Pili nuts!!!
Gelene brought us to nearby river :)
My camera's battery was totally dead, (and I didn't brought its charger, crap!) when we decided to go to Gelene's uncle farm since our scheduled time to depart going to Manila is 4:30pm. So, I don't have photos there :( We did fishing and they gave us some pomelos, avocado and raw pili nuts for pasalubong. :) So generous! :)
Sometimes we need also to experience difficulty and stress for us to learn how to decide properly. As we experience from this trip, I learned to decide and think positively despite of what happened. :) We need to expand our patience and see good things from it. :)
